Why your system may show a warning

Windows SmartScreen and macOS Gatekeeper validate reputation for each newly published installer. Warnings may appear on fresh releases even when the file is official.

New binaries build reputation progressively after release.
A warning alone does not mean tampering if domain, version, and SHA256 match.

Pre-launch checklist

Confirm file name and release version on the download page.
Verify SHA256 against the published SHA256SUMS file.
Do not fully disable Defender or Gatekeeper.
Run only official installers without repackaging.

After full code-signing/notarization rollout, warnings decrease automatically as release reputation is established.
